by Tuesday PopeIt’s been a long time since we’ve been to Shibuya. The only love the TWEWY franchise has gotten in recent years, aside from ports, is a cameo in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. That streak is finally broken as this DS classic is finally getting a new entry after 12 years! Neo The World Ends With You will be coming summer 2021 and supposedly will coincide with the anime adaptation of the first game.
The game looks beautiful in a 3D environment and the aesthetic has translated well. Of course there’s still the same stylized 2D talking scenes which also seem to have gotten a massive upgrade in depth and style. You take control of protagonist Rindo. Other revealed characters include Fret, Nagi, and Minamimoto. Combat, of course, doesn’t have the dual screen of the DS original. It appears you’ll still use pins for abilities. There was also revealed to be a Game Master who is calling the shots.
