Today at 9 am EDT, a new trailer dropped for the much anticipated Sword and Shield expansions; Isle of Armor and the Crown Tundra. While it wasn’t worth getting up early for, there was a lot of visual information. Currently the trailer is only available in Japanese with an English version soon to follow. The only parts language blocked are just more details about the bonuses from buying early.

The two most exciting parts of the trailer was the reveal of Galarian Slowbro with a gun arm (Pokémon Gun confirmed) and the release date of June 17th. There’s still Galarian Slowking, most likely to be revealed during information for the Crown Tundra. If these DLC follow the trends of sword and shield release information, there’s a lot packed in here we don’t know about. One thing is for sure, hundreds of our favorite monsters are back and better than ever.

The trailer didn’t waste time showing off Luxray, Absol, and other fan favorites. It’s a pleasure to see them back and running around the over world. It’s clear these areas are bigger than the current wild area which is quite large. We see them show off many of these locations from swamp to forest to beach to mountains and snow. Each location is more beautiful than the last. While I also have issues with sword and shield, there’s no denying the game is beautiful.

Galarian Slowpoke, one of time high was given to the player with an update after the reveal of the expansions, roam the beach areas so rest assured competitive players, you can find more for IV/EV breeding. The highlight of June 7th’s Isle of Armor appears to be the dojo in the heart of the island along with Kubfu. There seems to be a whole host of characters staying there and lots of battles within.

While the focus was Isle of Armor, there were a few tidbits from unknown areas of the game and the Crown Tundra. We see a double battle with Leon and Hop in the Pokémon stadium, the legendary bird trio have a scuffle, and the new Regi’s using their attacks. There’s also the confirmation all our favorite legendaries are back and available as raid battle encounters. This time, instead of falling down a hole, there appear to be caves you can enter to find the likes of Mewtwo and box legendaries. There’s also a focus on a strange pink and blue tree. While no information is given on it, one can’t help but wonder if it has to do with Crown Tundra’s featured new legendary Pokémon.

There’s a lot to take in and still a lot unknown about just what we’ll face. Don’t worry, I’ll let you know just what I think about all of it. Yeah I’m that person who preordered the expansions as soon as the direct featuring them ended. And I’ll be up at the stroke of midnight traversing every inch of the island.
