Recently, Pokemon Go hosted their Porygon community day event. Porygon swarmed the game and I got to annoy my husband for a few hours with the screech of the digital seizure warning duck. For the first time, I bought the special community day ticket to see if it would be worth it. And kinda? I enjoyed the extra community day offerings of course. I got a lot of experience and some evolution items that never spawn for me because I’m that unlucky. I also seemed to get more shinies than any of my friends. 13 total. Overall it was a fun experience and at two bucks, I can think of worse ways to spend your hard earned money.

Speaking of Pokémon Go, a new promo was announced for the game and it’s related to fashion. Those who don’t buy many purses may not be familiar with the brand Longchamp. They’re based out of Paris and are known for their high end fashion. They’ve just announced that they’re doing a cross over with Pokémon. This is the first entertainment/video game cross over for the company. “Our Le Pliage bag has become a platform where all the different aspects of Longchamp can be expressed and can also take us to unknown places. We hadn’t explored entertainment and gaming before. It’s a very inspiring world, particularly with Pokémon and its iconic mascot, Pikachu. Our two worlds, real and virtual, blend perfectly in this collaboration,” says Sophie Delafontaine, Artistic Director at Maison Longchamp, on this crossover.

Along with the signature logo bags adorned with Pikachu is a series of leather bags that are for the fan who wants more subtlety. Some of the bags even come with a keychain of a Pikachu wearing the iconic Longchamp hat. No prices have been announced but you can bet I’ll snag one if it doesn’t break the bank (which it will as their bags carry designer prices). In addition to hand and shoulder bags, there’s a mini backpack/cross shoulder bag that’s the most cheque way to carry any trainer’s goodies. The collection launches on October 13th in stores and online.

So how does that tie in with Pokémon Go? Well starting October 2nd, you can get matching gear for your trainer! And for significantly less. In addition to the avatar items, special Pokémon wearing hats and bows sporting the Longchamp logo will appear in the wild and hatch from eggs. Act fast, however, as this event only lasts until October 8th.
