Today Nintendo held a small indie showcase. There were a lot of really interesting games and a few that were trying to be something else. Overall there’s a lot to look forward to with several dropping today. At the start Nintendo said that several titles may have different dates due to COVID-19 and that their hearts go out to everyone impacted. I’m going to go through everything revealed rapid fire style especially since most of these titles are already out on Steam.

First Hades will be making its way to the switch! Supergiant started things off by talking about their newest rogue lite game. It’s making its way to the switch and you can import your save data from the computer. This company has made some impressive titles you should really check out if you haven’t. Transistor is my husband’s favorite game and Bastion is always fantastic. And Pyre doesn’t exist. Expect this to drop in Fall 2020.

Hypnospace Outlaw looks to be an indie title about surfing the internet to solve mysteries in the 1990s. Lots of wacky nostalgia. That’s what the kids like these days, right? This title drops August 27th and a demo is out now.

Next up is Spiritfarer. This title is sure to be an emotional journey as you guide the spirits of monsters to the afterlife. There’s also a healthy dose of exploring. This game will be out today!

Also revealed is a gardening game where you’re a grape. Garden Story is another time management game with beautiful graphics and a cartoony style. This very wholesome game will be out in 2021.

Subnautica and Subnautica Below Zero are also coming to switch in 2021. These underwater exploration games are beautiful. I always say under the ocean is such an unexplored setting for video games and these games take full advantage of their setting.

Takeshi and Hiroshi is an emotional journey (I peep that hospital bed) about a brother making an RPG game and updating his brother about what’s happening in each chapter. It features an interesting stop motion animation in cutscenes. This game is also out later today.

The game that has me most hyped is Raji An Ancient Epic. This story is made by Indian creators and features a world set in the vibrant legends of India. It looks to be an exploration brawler type of game and I really think games like these need all the love. It looks to be the most polished thing shown off and has a lot of love put into it. I’ll absolutely be picking up this visual treat today.

The second game I’m most excited about from the direct is Bear and Breakfast. An adorable exploration and time management game where you play as a bear. Very cute. This timed console exclusive will be out in 2021.

A short hike is a beautiful indie title where you explore the wilderness at your own pace. There’s boat travel, air travel, however you want to experience the world. This game is a timed console exclusive coming to the switch today.

Another intriguing title is Card Shark. Set in 1800s France, you must swindle and cheat your way through multiple card games and avoid getting caught. This game will be out in 2021.

Also coming is Torchlight 3 for the switch. This game is a Diablo style dungeon looter with a cartoony twist. When you get the switch version, you get a free red fairy pet. This game will be out this Fall.

Manifold Garden is a perspective puzzle solver based on MC Escher’s art. This gravity puzzler will be out today on Switch.

Evergate reminds me of how hard Wenjia tried to be Ori and the Blind Forest. This game is another one that’s based on platforming and has a small white cute critter as the protagonist. It also has that swelling score and “deep” story. The mechanics look fun but honestly it looks the most skippable of anything discussed today. It will also be out today.

Next up was a sizzle reel of titles before the big drop of the show. Untitled Goose Game is getting a free update with two player coop. It looks extremely fun to be honest. Two honking geese circling a cowering child is pretty much everything I could want from an update to Untitled Goose Game. The update comes out on September 23rd and a physical release of the game will be out soon.
Let us know in the comments what you’re most excited to play on your switch!
