Following a Kirby-related leak, Kirby Fighters 2 shadow dropped onto the Switch E-shop. Kirby Fighters 2 is, obviously, a sequel to the same title that was an impressively deep sub game on Kirby Triple Deluxe. It also follows on from the free Super Kirby Clash for the 3DS. It’s a fitting drop as Nintendo is dropping 3DS support.

The game plays like Smash Brothers because, surprise, Sakurai makes Kirby as well. There’s a healthy roster of characters and online support. It’s nothing intense or skilled, but it’s fun, easy to pick up, and absolutely adorable. It’s a great break from your other fighting games.

For $19.99 there’s a lot to appreciate in this title. Levels are inspired by fan favorite locations throughout Kirby. The training level for example is the same training level from Kirby 64 (Kirby and the Crystal Shards). There’s not much to really say. It’s adorable. Go play it.
