After the Xbox Series X showcase and Halo Infinite opened with a rough trailer and more pop-in than a bag of popcorn, the memes began. Most of them centered around a particular shot where a brute stands before Master Chief with poor textures and an expressionless face. There are, no lie, already shirts and t-shirts for sale by “fans” to commemorate another meme well done.

At first, many thought surely this is just an early build with the real work being delayed due to the pandemic. Nope, final gameplay. No one liked that. People were both angry and nervous as to what this could mean for the future of the franchise especially with this being the big next gen release they had been anticipating.

Thankfully 343 Industries finally decided to pull the game as a launch title and delay the release until next year. As seen above, Chris Lee has announced the delay. Will this lead to a better polished game or is this just delaying the inevitable? Time will tell. And what does this mean for the Xbox Series X which has just lost arguably their most important launch title? Let us know your predictions in the comments below.
