by Tuesday PopeCompanies are extremely eager to find the next Fortnite because they like money. Who doesn’t like money? I love money. And recently they’ve latched onto Fall Guys. While weird toilet paper companies on twitter have just learned animal crossing was a thing, everyone wants in on the ground floor of Fall Guys. Including the bootleg phone app companies. So let’s talk about some Fall Guys bootlegs.
Top of the App Store is Silly Race. Look at those colors! Look at those last two screen shots. This is obviously Fall Guys. Tell your parents to download it now. Surely this is the app you should download if you want the fun of Fall Guys in your pocket, right? Well, you see these screens? That’s it. It’s just a race in two courses barely different from each other. Over and over. This is the “we’ve got Fall Guys at home” meme. I find it really funny the reviews for this are filled with complaints from people who have coins that they can’t spend because the shop doesn’t work.
Next up we have a Knockout Race. This one at least has characters that look more the guys which have fall. This one is relatively more fun. The main issue is that instead of everyone going at the same speed so there’s a chance anyone can win, certain character builds are naturally faster than others. The corners are also possibly coated in super glue because you will get stuck on them. The game is still a broken mess like most boot legs. The developers at least seem to be interested in making their bootleg more playable. Your mileage may vary on this one. I’d, however, still stick to the real thing.
Now we come to the ugliest game in the bunch. Run Royals 3D is about as generic a bootleg title as you can get. It’s boring. It’s one race. You can’t change your character look or even make your own username. The game barely works and weirdly enough, there’s no in app purchases. It begs the question why this even exists in the first place. This plays more like wipeout for the wii than Fall Guys. Don’t download this. Your time is more valuable than this bootleg app.
It’s literally just a coloring book. The person that made this app, I assume, has no idea what a Fall Guys is because there’s plenty of images here that aren’t fall guys. You’d be better off downloading a coloring page for your kid on the computer and handing them the Microsoft paint bucket tool.
This is about where I had my fill of Fall Guys knock offs. There’s also plenty more games that play nothing like the game but take advantage of the name or color scheme. Cannon Guys, Coin Run!, Balance Race, Falling Guy, and more I’ve missed only exist to trick parents and young kids. They sneak in, make a few bucks while you aren’t looking, before being deleted. Don’t download these. Please be aware of what you or your kids are downloading. I played these so you don’t have to waste your time.
