Produced by Sanrio, this adorable anime has been described as a cartoon for adults and that really describes the vibe. Everything is more grounded in reality with fantastical elements sprinkled in for comedy. The show follows Retsuko and her day to day life as an accountant working an office job and navigating adult life. Love, parents, a rude boss, all of her frustrations culminate in letting loose with some death metal karaoke.
The show, especially in season 2, is character focused. Time is taken to give all major players in the story a well rounded personality. It’s hard to hate anyone in this show. You dislike certain characters, but you still like them “as a person.” It’s the show’s greatest strength as well as comedy. This show is really funny because of how relatable everything is.
Enough gushing, we’re here to report that not only has the show been given a release date, but also a poster! Season 3 will finally drop on August 27 2020. As good as season 2 was, and let’s not forget the Christmas special, we can rest assured we’ll be in for an awesome time.
Featured prominently is an idol group made of three rodent characters and their agent. My curiosity lies, however, with the unicorn! Each season of the show has so far ended with a love interest going realistically wrong. Could this be a new love interest? Is his horn real or fake? All questions will be answered very soon and I can’t wait to binge another chapter of Retsuko’s life
